Job Experience

Hello,
Joined Amdocs on 21st June'2010.
Had a training for 1 month and after that alloted the team and the project which I will be working in future. I have been honored with Sharepoint Developer in Internal IT vertical of Amdocs.

For me sharepoint was, make a point on a piece of paper and let all draw random figures using it. So from that after working for past 3 weeks and having 5 KT session, now I stand corrected; after modifying my definition in some technical terms.

As per the experience of the last days, having constant errors and debugging is taking a lot of time. Only last day learnt how to debug a webpart. Otherwise I was using try/catch blocks for getting the error messages, but on the fly debugging is much more better. Last day was full of errors and 10,000 lines of code to debug.
I wonder when we write the code the FD is so clear in our mind but at the time of implementing we make certain changes to do our work easily and sometimes also do code duplication just increasing the lines in code.
When I first finished my code it was 15,000 lines and than I spent around 2 hrs to reduce 5000 lines and now I am still not satisfied with the code my teammate has written. Need to find a better way to implement as he himself said, let first do the things as asked then will reduce the complexity. But I personally hate that approach. For me, invest sometime in thinking for better way and than start writing. Which saves time uselessly invested in again reading and making changes.

Today I think, the functioning will be proper and will finish this assignment by lunch time.
Will update tomorrow what the outcome was.

Till than...
Enjoy! Keep Smiling...
